Tailgater Concierge (“TC”) is committed to making football game day easier by providing our customers with everything they need for the perfect tailgate party, with none of the hassle. We reserve the tailgate space, bring the gear, set it up, and take care of the clean up so that our customers need only to show up, have a great time and go to the game. We partner with transportation, catering, beverage delivery, and bartending partners to create a turnkey tailgate experience for our clients. We support teams nationwide across the NCAA and NFL.

Position Description and Responsibilities

To be a member of our Game Day Operations team, you need to LOVE events and operations and be great at event planning. You not only will be working diligently in the off-season to plan for game days, but you will be on the ground executing them during the football season in the fall/winter. 

We’re looking for a candidate who has a high attention to detail, great communication skills, the ability to multi-task, enjoys working with people, can handle high-stress situations, are able to think on their feet, and who thrives in the long day, event environment.

Principle responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for a set of specific properties within a region (i.e., West Coast, Midwest, Southeast).

  • Daily coordination and communication with account manager for your region as clients are booked for your properties.

  • Find local vendors/partners – including catering groups, beverage partners, restroom providers, trash removal, U-Haul’s, ice delivery, 3rd party equipment rental companies, etc. – for designated properties. You will be responsible for any/all communication with these vendors prior to and during the football season.

  • Managing the client life cycle after booking – confirming any/all catering & beverage orders, invoicing for any equipment adjustments, etc.

  • Create all gameday packages for each game in your territory. This includes timeline, customer equipment, customer catering and beverage, employee hours, layout maps etc. that will be shared with the individual team lead the week of each game day.

  • Schedule and execute a planning meeting with all team leads that have a game in the coming week and run through all gameday details.

  • Schedule and execute a wrap-up meeting with each team lead that had a game the prior weekend to gather learnings, employee hours.

  • Create and send out all gameday customer instructions. Set up calls with clients as needed.

  • Be onsite and assist with tailgates on game days each weekend in the fall. 

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, communications, hospitality, sports, or a related field

  • Experience in event management/planning

  • Strong work ethic, adaptable, self-starter

  • Eagerness to learn and help grow a young company

As our company’s Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for the coordinated marketing efforts of all aspects and locations of the company across social platforms, press, affiliate marketing, blogs, and website.

We’re looking for a candidate who has a high attention to detail, great communication skills, the ability to multi-task, enjoys working with people, can handle high-stress situations, are able to think on their feet, and who thrives in the long day, event environment.

Principle responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for company-wide marketing plan and execution.
  • Establishing strategy for TC.com blog – setting blog posting cadence, developing content ideas, managing freelance writers – and working to grow affiliate revenue, sell blog sponsorship spots, generate ad revenue.
  • Management of TC social media platforms with consistent posting, engagement with followers, collaborating with other platforms. Set growth metrics across Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram.
  • Work with TC.com website developer on enhancing website design, flow, functionality.
  • Create template decks for TC teams to utilize with consistent branding.
  • Create marketing assets needed by partner properties – i.e. banner ads, email blast content.
  • Establish a consistent newsletter to be sent to TC database full of relevant content to the week/month
  • Support TC sales team research on fan groups, travel groups, etc. of teams traveling to TC properties in the fall of 2022.
  • Research, hire and manage a PR firm and work with them to set a consistent cadence of media releases to be sent out around key events.
  • Be on-site at game days throughout the fall gathering photos, video content, etc. to be posted, used in marketing efforts. Also managing on-site photographers/videographers at other properties.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, marketing, communications, hospitality, sports, or a related field
  • Experience in marketing, social media marketing, website development, design
  • Strong work ethic, adaptable, self-starter

As one of our company’s Account Managers, you will be responsible for all clients within a designated market.

We’re looking for a candidate who has high attention to detail, great communication skills, the ability to multi-task, enjoys working with people, can handle high-stress situations, are able to think on their feet, and thrives in the long day, event environment.

Principle responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Management of all clients within your designated market with the support of the operations coordinator in your area.

  • Sales outreach to local businesses, organizations, hotels, etc. within your market.

  • Sales outreach to away team alumni clubs, social media groups, in an effort to sell tailgates

  • Establish long term partnerships with local companies to market services to fans in town, or traveling in from out of town

  • Be responsible for answering company 888 number, answering questions as well as taking tailgate orders

  • Respond to emails received from prospective clients

  • Create standard and custom proposals for clients and prospective clients

  • Send invoices via Squareup.com and ensure that payment has been received before game day

  • Special projects as assigned

Position Responsibilities

The Game Day Event Manager is responsible for executing a flawless game day experience for Tailgater Concierge clients.

Principle accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the seamless game day event coordination with event staff, caterers, beverage partners, ice vendors, etc. to ensure everything is perfect when guests arrive and throughout the tailgate
  • Responsible for overseeing the event staff throughout the 2021 football season (e.g. updating staff on upcoming game times when announced, informing them of work schedules, overseeing and supporting them on actual game days, providing hours to corporate for payroll process, etc.)
  • Provide a high-level of customer service for all TC guests throughout game day tailgate experience
  • Attend a standing in-person or call with TC corporate each week to discuss upcoming game day activities, orders, timelines, staff requirements, etc. and debrief on previous game day results/learnings
  • Work closely with team partners including athletics, facilities, catering, and marketing

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Prefer a bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, sports or a related field (or in process of earning)
  • Experience in team management, hospitality and event management
  • Strong communication skills, adaptable, self-starter, reliable
  • Eagerness to learn and help grow a young company
  • Ability to lift approx. 30lbs
  • Must have reliable transportation

Position Responsibilities

The game day customer service team is accountable for making sure the guest experience runs as smooth as possible and will report into the game day event manager.

Principle accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Be responsive to the game day event manager
  • Set up check-in booth with Tailgater Concierge signage, marketing materials, check-in sheets, etc.
  • Be available by phone to provide directions to Tailgater Concierge guests if necessary
  • Support crew team in confirming all tailgate set-ups have correct equipment, F&B, and ice
  • Coordinate curbside assistance with crew team for guests when they arrive (help bring tailgating supplies from client’s cars to their designated tailgate area)
  • Check-in and direct customers to their tailgate set-up upon arrival
  • Check on Tailgater Concierge guests sporadically during tailgate experience to ensure needs are met
  • Confirm customer’s plans for ‘check-out’ and inform the event manager so he/she can plan take-down schedules accordingly
  • Take lots of pictures – we love to see how things are going!
  • Encourage guests to leave feedback/reviews about our services on social media sites

Position Responsibilities

Game day crew team members are accountable for set-up and take-down of all tailgate reservations (tents, chairs, tables, coolers, etc.) and will report into the game day event manager.

Principle accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Be responsive to the game day event manager
  • Support event manager in loading required tailgate gear from storage unit into U-Haul
  • Set up all tailgates according to weekly plan and map of tailgate space provided
  • Support event manager in ensuring all catering, beverage, ice delivery is placed and set-up in the appropriate tailgates
  • Be available to provide curbside assistance for guests (help carry tailgating supplies i.e. beverages, food, equipment etc. from customer cars to tailgate location and from tailgate locations to cars)
  • Be available to answer any questions customers have or provide additional equipment upon request
  • Check garbage receptacles and replace full bags with fresh ones throughout the tailgate time
  • Take down, clean up, and inventory all tailgate package components
  • Report damaged and/or lost tailgate components to the event manager
  • Place garbage in designated area
  • Return all tailgate equipment to storage unit and securely store for the next game

Requirements

  • Proven track record of reliability
  • Prior event staff experience
  • Ability to lift approx. 30lbs       
  • Access to reliable transportation
